Cheque presented to the ILS Charity of the Year.
ILS staff on the Isle of Man have the opportunity to nominate a local charity, a vote then takes place and the winner becomes our 'Charity of the Year'.
Richard MacNee nominated Looky's Aid, a charity set up in the memory of Lucas 'Looky' Martin who tragically died from meningitis in 2023 aged just 21. Richard's stepson Patrick and Lucas were best mates, starting school together at four and sharing flats and houses at university until they graduated a few months before Lucas died. The charity was established to help and support under privileged young people on the Isle of Man, a subject close to Lucas' heart.
Richard and a group of friend's from the island including Lucas' dad and Patrick climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in January 2025 raising £30,000 for the charity.
Richard presented a cheque for £2,000 to Brett who said "thank you to ILS for the donation, which will be used in Lucas' name to help young people who need support on the island".
