Name
Lilian Cheung

Job role
Managing Director, ILS World in Hong Kong

Time with ILS
Five years and seven months

You've lived in Hong Kong for most of your life, but have resided in both the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man, before moving back to Hong Kong full time. What did you enjoy most about living in these places and what do you love most about living in Hong Kong?
I spent about 15 months in Sheffield doing my Master degree and then came back to Hong Kong to work as a financial PR consultant for five years. I then got the chance to work in the Isle of Man for three years.

What I enjoyed most about living in these places was making new friends there. I have many good friends and this is why I still love going back to see them. I also enjoy the work life balance in the Isle of Man; it is a very different style in Hong Kong!

What are the main functions of your role?
I think the most important role is to make sure our clients' needs are being taken care. I meet most of my clients and new potential clients as well. I am leading a team of 10 people in the Hong Kong office, and so I also want to make sure we have a happy team, so I will try my best to provide training and a vision for each staff member so that they enjoy working for ILS World.

You are a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (STEP). How does this help you in your job?
Our industry requires constant learning, being STEP qualified gives me the confidence to talk to our clients about the trust concept.

What products and services do you offer from Hong Kong?
We help many international clients to develop their business in Hong Kong. We offer Hong Kong incorporation, Hong Kong Visa, bank account opening, payroll and bookkeeping. We also do offshore company structure and trust structure.

What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is meeting many different clients and delivering what they need.

What is your greatest achievement to date?
I think to develop a team of 10 people and three of us celebrated five years of service this year.

You have travelled extensively, where is your favourite place that you have visited?
Cambodia, I visited there for one week every year from 2009 to 2012 for voluntary work in a school. I always miss the children there.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose?
Hong Kong.

What do you do outside of work?
Hiking and drawing.

Pick four people to attend a dinner party you are hosting.
My best friends.
