ILS World and JCC Isle of Man will host its popular debate night at the Sefton Hotel on Thursday 29th October.
With less than a year to go to the general election, the debate will propose the motion: "This House believes that the people of the Isle of Man would be better served by a party political system."
The event will feature Kate Beecroft MHK (Proposer) and Chris Robertshaw MHK (Opposer).
Kate Beecroft said: "Open, honest and transparent party politics would most definitely serve the Island better than the system we currently have where a party is formed after the general elections. I will be delighted to explain exactly what I mean by that this."
Chris Robertshaw said: "I fully understand the frustrations of those who believe 'party politics' is the way forward for the Isle of Man, but that would be a retrograde step. What we really need are solutions that are fit for future purpose."
ILS World CEO Chris Eaton will chair the debate. He said: "I am particularly looking forward to chairing this year's ILS debate. With less than a year to go to the next Manx General Election our motion goes to the very heart of the Manx Constitution. With a team of passionate speakers representing both sides of the argument, the evening should be a lot of fun, but with a significant undercurrent of seriousness".
